Spider-Verse Analysis

I believe personally that the story of peter parker in into the spiderverse was better as not only the visuals of the movie make it more emotional but it shows how this worn down version of peter parker can get back up and turn his life around i believe everyone has that ability. It also tells his story better as it shows his back story and his character development over time in the movie eventually turning his life around. While in the comic books it was short for me and did not let me have a big enough emotional connection to that peter parker and his story was less tragic than peter parker in the movie.

The character i will be choosing is Peter Parker The similarities i have found are that Peter Parker in the movie and the comic They both want to go home. They where teleported unexpectedly into miles Morales dimension. they both meet aunt may and miss her as she is already dead int heir realities and remind them of Uncle Ben aswell. Both villains wanted him dead because of what Peter Parker did and caused him to teleport to a different dimension. Peter Parker also effects miles morales in a positive way example from the comic is when Peter parker gave miles his blessing, and in the movie peter parker helped develop miles to turn into spider man.

Peter parker in the movie was divorced and was a bum and had no motivation to be the spiderman he once was and overtime when he teleported to the dimension where he died morales while peter parker was helping miles develop to a true spider man miles also helped peter parker get back up and be motivated again as he went back to MJ in his reality and turned his life around.

Peter parker in the comic was not a bum and was still an active spider man and he was younger as the one in the movie was in his forties and inactive and was a bum. he managed to stumble on the teleporter by mysterio and was teleported into miles dimension where miles was already a spiderman and they both knew each others identities. and as he just wanted to go home and also met Gwen and Aunt may and called the avengers to defeat mysterio and finally going back to his dimension and giving miles his blessings.

Miles morales is a black/latin male in brooklyn that was required to go to a school with higher education as quoted by his dad that he had no choice. The dad was referencing that its either he gets a higher education or he becomes a criminal or a bum which is common for minorities in the US in general. His dad wanted him to be better than him as he did not want miles to become like his uncle which was an actual criminal in hiding but was perseved as everything miles shouldnt be by his dad. I am assuming that his dad got the better education and became a cop to stop people from going into to crime with the uncle became the criminal and bum.

The word i will be choosing is responsibility because it is a popular word in the spiderman franchise because of the quote: “with great power comes great responsibility”

And the reasoning behind the word is that since spiderman is a super hero that can do alot of good should be responsible and use their powers for good unlike the villains they fight which use their powers to oppress people are not using their powers responsibly.
it also teaches people now that if they have some sort of power such as authority or being a leader you should be responsible with that power as that power can be abused and should not be.

Exposition

It starts on a teenager named miles morales moving schools and showing how hard it was for him even though he displayed that he was intelligent enough. and miles eventually meets a south african girl who is actually gwen from a different dimension

Rising action

when miles is hanging out with his uncle which his dad is not so fond of in the subway making street art while a spider is creeping on him and bites him.

when he finds kingpins device and spiderman destroys it and he senses that he also has spiderman abilities he gives his responsibilities to him before he is killed by kingpin.

he meets the other spidermen and is taught how to become spider man but is given up on as he did not have the fighter instinct the other spidermen had that they needed to use to fight king pin and other villains.

Climax

he hangs out with the other spidermen in aunt Mays house and is attacked by his uncle which wants to stop him from interfering with kingpins plans and as his uncle catches him and removes his mask he gets surprised that it was miles and then gets shot by his father while he was in the line of duty.

Falling action

When he is in his room depressed and his dad talks to him from the other side of the door and it clicks to him that he is spiderman and he can save the world from kingpins plan

Resolution

Miles beats kingpin and is able to bring everyone back to their dimension and impresses peter parker as he is teleported back effecting both characters in a positive way in the end.
